Craft breweries are popping up all over Minnesota. New Bohemia just opened their doors on West 7th, near downtown St. Paul, and now Utepils is hosting their grand opening on Feb. 18 in Minneapolis.
Utepils (ooh-ta-pilz): Norwegian for enjoying the first beer in the sunshine after a long, dark winter.
Utepils is cleansing the palates of beer drinkers with their new Belgium-style IPA, Bavarian heifewizen, and Czech-style pilsner.
If you thought it was hard to say “Utepils” aloud, here’s a little video showing a bunch of Norwegian people trying to translate the word into English.
Utepils will have an outdoor patio and a beer garden, says Utepils President Dan Justesen, open to the public starting on Feb. 18. After that, their regular hours of operation will be 12 -10 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, 12-11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 12-6 p.m. on Sundays.
